• Department became Associate Member of prestigious Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) , a SAARC recognized body.
• Inauguration of Entrepreneur Cell (E-Cell) took place on 3rd May 2017 by the General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Kishore Pariyar. Dr. Shuvendu Dey is Coordinating the activities of E-Cell
• Our alumni Ms. Deepshikha Gurung received Best Employee Award at Bharti Airtel for her performance in the Financial Year 2016-17
• Our alumni Ms. Anwesha Chakraborty and Mr. Bishnu Singhareceived Best Perfromer Award at Anandam Insightfor their projectperformance in the Financial Year 2016-17
• Students of Department of Business Administration got placed in companies like Bharti Airtel, Ujjiban Small Finance Bank, Just Dial, Maruti Udyog Limited, Vodafone , ITC, Fountech etc.
• Ms. Damini Bose, Ms. Poulomi Sarkar, Mr. Vishal Banik, Ms. Sudeshna Tamang & Ms. Nibedita Kumud Ray won the Zonal Business Plan competition of Carpe Diem. They are going to represent SIT at Carpre Diem 2018 to be held at IIM Calcutta.
• Conducted one day symposium on “Banking Support for the budding Entrepreneurs” by the General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Kishore Pariyar in association with Department of Electrical Engineers on 3rd May 2017.
• Organied 5 Days National Skill Building Training cum Workshop on “Brand Management” in association with Capre diem (IIM Calcutta Event) & Makeintern.com from 16thMay 2017 to 20th May 2017.
• Conducted one day seminar of “Careers in Product Management” by Mr. Anirban Ghatak CEO of MieRobot.Com, Bangalore on 27th October 2017
• Organised Peter F memorial 7th National Management Research Conference (NMRC 2017) on 11th November 2017. Professor Dwarika Prasad Uniyal graced the conference as Conference as Chirperson. In this conference other eminent academicians like Prof(Dr) Isita Lahiri from Kalyani University , Prof (Dr) Sajal Das of University of Calcutta, Prof. (Dr) S.N.Dhar of University of North Bengal , Prof. (Dr) Tanmoy Dasgupta of University of Burdwan, Prof (Dr) Madhumita Mohanty IISWBM , Fr (Dr). G. Chempakathinal, Vice Principal of Salesian College, Dr. B.Varadaraj , Principal of Insperia College were present and shared their valuable thoughts on latest trends of Management with the research scholars and students.
