Smart India Hackathon 2026 | Internal Hackathon SIH 2026 @ Siliguri Institute of Technology (MCA)

Siliguri Institute of Technology (MCA) successfully hosted its Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on 14 September 2026, bringing together the creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving spirit of students from BCA and MCA.

A total of 14 teams comprising 84 students, among which 22 female, presented 14 innovative solutions addressing 9 different problem statements. From ideation to working prototypes, the teams demonstrated impressive technical capabilities, collaboration, creativity, and a strong commitment to solving real-world challenges.

Following a rigorous evaluation by the jury, the top teams were:

The competition was exceptionally close, with very thin margins separating the teams. Every solution and prototype presented during the hackathon was commendable, making the selection of the top three teams a challenging task for the jury.

Heartiest congratulations to the winners and runners-up, and appreciation to all 90 participating students and 15 teams for making the Internal Hackathon a remarkable showcase of student innovation. The journey towards SIH 2026 begins with an idea. At SIT, we are proud to see our students turning those ideas into solutions.

Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon 2025

Siliguri Institute of Technology proudly hosted the Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon 2025 on 16th September 2025, bringing together the brightest 320 students from 54 teams across various departments.

This initiative served as a powerful platform for young innovators to showcase their skills in domains like Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare, and Sustainability. The shortlisted teams will now move ahead to represent SIT at the national level of SIH 2025.
A special note of appreciation to Prof. Deb Shekhar Laha, SPOC of SIH since 2019, for his continuous efforts in guiding and mentoring our students through this journey.
