2nd and 3rd-year Electrical Engineering students at SIT had an incredible, hands-on learning experience on 19.05.2026 during an industrial visit to the WBSETCL Substation!
The Department of Electrical Engineering at Siliguri Institute of Technology proudly conducted industry-focused training programs to equip students with practical skills for the modern engineering world. 4th Semester: Electronic Product Design & PCB Fabrication Hands-on learning in PCB design, fabrication, and electronic product development 6th Semester: Industrial Automation (PLC/SCADA) & Panel Design, Practical exposure to PLC/SCADA systems, automation, and panel design.
On 13.02.2026, our 4th Year student Sumeru Chhetri brought glory to the department by winning the title of Mr. SITEX 2026 at the Annual Cultural Fest 2026, showcasing excellence beyond academics. Adding to the celebration, Manish Kumar Roy, a 3rd-year student and member of Utkarsh Innovation Club, secured 2nd Position in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Project Competition during Tech Management & Food Fest 2K26, demonstrating strong technical insight and innovative thinking.
Industrial Visit at UJANU 132/33 kV sub station (WBSETCL) on 29.02.2024 by 3rd year students of Electrical Engineering, Siliguri Institute of Technology. Location: Ujanu Substation, Shivnagar, Siliguri. Industrial visits are highly significant for various reasons: Hands on Learning, Equipment familiarization, Safety Awareness, Operational Insights, Maintenance Practice, Environment Impact and Career Opportunities
