YUKTI - National Innovation Repository (NIR)
YUKTI – National Innovation Repository (NIR) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education, implemented through the MoE's Innovation Cell and the All India Council for Technical Education. It is a centralised platform for recording, tracking, and supporting innovative ideas, prototypes, research projects, intellectual property, and startups developed by students, faculty members, and institutions across India.
The primary objective of YUKTI-NIR is to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in higher education institutions by identifying promising innovations and providing them with mentorship, incubation, networking, and funding opportunities. The platform helps institutions maintain a structured repository of innovation activities and monitor the progress of projects from ideation to commercialisation.

YUKTI Innovation Challenge (YIC) is a national initiative of the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell that identifies and promotes innovative ideas, prototypes, and startups from higher education institutions. It provides national recognition, mentorship, incubation support, funding opportunities, industry exposure, and startup development assistance, helping innovators transform ideas into impactful products and ventures.
YUKTI-NIR helps institutions document and showcase innovations, startups, research projects, and IP activities. Regular data submission provides evidence of innovation outcomes, strengthens the institutional innovation ecosystem, supports IIC performance assessment, and contributes significantly toward achieving a higher Institution's Innovation Council Star Rating.
